Introduction to RPF SI Examination

What is RPF SI Exam?

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) Sub-Inspector (SI) Exam is a national-level competitive examination conducted by the Indian Railways to recruit candidates for the position of Sub-Inspector in the RPF and Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF).

Exam Pattern

The RPF SI exam consists of three stages:

Computer-Based Test (CBT)

Duration 90 minutes
Total Marks 120
Subjects 1. General Awareness (50 marks)
 Current affairs, history, geography, Indian Constitution, environmental issues, etc.
2. Arithmetic (35 marks)
 Basic arithmetic, algebra, time & distance, profit & loss, etc.
3. General Intelligence & Reasoning (35 marks)
 Logical reasoning, coding-decoding, analogies, syllogism, etc.
Negative Marking 1/3rd mark deduction for every incorrect answer.

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

PET Details: o Male: 1600 meters run in 6 minutes 30 seconds, high jump (3 feet 9 inches), long jump (12 feet).
o Female: 800 meters run in 4 minutes, high jump (3 feet), long jump (9 feet).
PMT Details: Height and chest measurements are specific to gender and category.
